UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Veer Switchback Switch&Roll

If you’ve been researching baby gear for any length of time, chances are you’ve heard of the UPPAbaby Vista V3. You’ve likely noticed many cruising your streets and parks as well. This well-known single to double stroller has been around since 2006 and is known for its versatility, style, and quality.

One of the Vista V3′s competitors is the Veer Switchback Switch&Roll Complete Stroller. Veer, well-known for their Cruiser wagons, entered the stroller game with a bang in 2022. The Switch&Roll has similar features of the Vista V3, with some unique additions such as turnable rear shocks and a versatile stroller seat (the Switchback) that has energy absorbing features in the seat itself AND has six different uses for all your family’s adventures!

Deciding between the two? We’ll compare the benefits and drawbacks of each stroller in this in-depth UPPAbaby Vista V3 and Veer Switch&Roll comparison.

UPPAbaby Vista V3

The UPPAbaby Vista V3 makes it easy to stroll with your family, no matter where you’re heading or who’s along for the ride. Starting as a single stroller, the Vista V3 can accommodate a second seat, car seat or bassinet for siblings or twins.

The Vista V3 folds compactly in one step and stands when folded, helping parents comfortably load it into the car. The stroller becomes a convenient travel system with the addition of an UPPAbaby infant car seat, which clicks on and off without adapters. An extra-large storage basket, an all-weather comfort seat, and a wide variety of accessories are among the features that make the Vista V3 a hit with growing families.

UPPAbaby released the current Vista V3 in late 2024, making changes like improving the suspension, introducing new colors, adding an all-weather seat, a Quick-to-Secure Harness System and more!

Veer Switchback Switch&Roll

Using the innovative Veer Switchback seat, the Switch&Roll is a versatile stroller that can tackle any terrain – and even convert from single to double as your family grows or use for twins from the start. It’s rugged design, never-flat wheels, and adjustable suspension make it a great option for outdoor adventuring type families!

The Switchback Switch&Roll uses the innovative Switchback seat. This seat can become a booster seat when out and about, a camping chair, plus it fits on Veer’s &Jog stroller frame, as well as both of their Cruiser wagons. You can even attach it to the back of your bike! The flexibility of this system is very unique! You can customize your Switch&Roll with different color kits as well.

UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Veer Switchback Switch&Roll Weight Limit

Both the Vista V3 and the Switch&Roll main top seats hold 50 pounds. They are practically the same size as well.

However, the second bottom seat, known as the RumbleSeat on the Vista V3, is a smaller copy of the Toddler Seat (top seat). It has a 40 pound weight limit, which is a drawback for parents who want their baby to sit in the upper position but have a toddler who’s too big for the lower position.

However, this is an issue with the Vee Switch&Roll as well. Even though the Switch&Roll uses the same exact Switchback seat on the lower position, the weight limit changes to 40 pounds when used on the bottom position. This is due to the design of the stroller.

Both UPPAbaby and Veer suggest putting the heavier child on top as the stroller is easier to push and maneuver this way.

UPPAbaby Vista Weight Capacity

  • Toddler seat: 50 pounds
  • RumbleSeat: 40 pounds

  • Switchback Top Seat: 50 pounds
  • Switchback Bottom Seat: 40 pounds

UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Veer Switchback Switch&Roll Configurations

The Vista V3 and Switch&Roll offer similar configurations for siblings. On both strollers, both seats are reversible, allowing the child to face you or face forward. Both strollers also work with compatible car seats and bassinets. For twins, both strollers take two infant car seats or two bassinets.

The Veer Switch&Roll allows for one configuration not possible with the Vista V3: the bassinet on the upper position with second seat on the lower position facing in. With the Vista V3, the bassinet can’t fit on the upper position when the stroller is a double, so the bassinet can only be used on the lower position.

The Vista V3 requires the purchase of the upper adapters plus the RumbleSeat (and included lower adapters) to complete double configurations involving a car seat or bassinet.

With the Switch&Roll, you will need the Veer Double Seat Adapter Kit to make your Veer stroller into a double. One set of adapters attaches a second Switchback seat, infant car seat or bassinet to the lower position, while the other set raises the top seat higher to create more space for double configurations.

UPPAbaby Vista V3 vs. Veer Switchback Switch&Roll Fold

The Vista V3 and Veer Switch&Roll strollers fold almost identically. The folds involve a one-step fold that’s simple for parents to master. Both stand when folded if the handlebar is fully extended prior to folding, and the bumper bar can help you lift the stroller into your car.
